A postcard from 1909 unexpectedly arrived at its original address in Liverpool, sparking curiosity and excitement among locals
Mikey, who’s a bit of a history buff, was intrigued. The postcard had a lovely image of Sefton Park and wished Annie “Many Happy Returns of the Day.” He couldn’t help but wonder about the story behind it.
After finding it, he shared a photo online, hoping someone might know more about Annie or the building’s history. The response was fantastic! People from the area jumped in to help him dig deeper.
Mikey thinks it’s amazing to hold something that connects him to the past. He’s even hoping to find a descendant of Annie to return the postcard to. How cool would that be?
Interestingly, the postcard was part of a project by two friends in Liverpool who send historic postcards back to their original addresses. They want to keep the stories of the past alive, which is such a neat idea.
They’ve been busy, delivering around 150 postcards since they started. It’s all about the joy of reconnecting people with their history. Mikey’s excited to see where this journey takes him!
