Nuke’s Sports Bar in Warrington will feature free darts, karaoke, and live sports, celebrating darts star Luke Littler’s achievements.
Luke, from Warrington, made history recently. He became the youngest player to win the PDC World Darts Championship at just 17. He beat Michael van Gerwen at Alexandra Palace.
Nuke’s Sports Bar will replace Religion Coffee on Sankey Street. Religion is moving to The Hive, a boutique shopping center. Owen Williams, the owner, also runs The Tank Bar and Live Lounge.
Owen decided to name the bar after a Facebook vote. Luke was the clear favorite. Owen said, “We took recommendations from the Warrington community.”
He noticed that Luke’s success is bringing more people out. “If they’re not watching darts, they’re playing darts,” he said. Owen has received messages asking if kids can play darts at the bar.
Owen felt something was missing in Warrington. He said, “There is a need for a good but competitively priced sports bar.” Going out can be expensive, especially midweek.
He wants to create an affordable place for everyone. “It’s not going to cost you the earth to go here,” he added. Owen hopes Nuke’s will be Warrington’s cheapest independent bar.
His experience in hospitality motivates him. He runs OW Event Bars, providing bars for large events across the UK. He opened Tank in November 2024, and its success inspired him to do more.
Nuke’s Sports Bar will open in the next month. Owen hopes Luke will visit. “It would be great for him to come down, maybe open the bar, and throw a few darts,” he said.
