Brenda, who’s 78 now, has had two marriages. Her first was when she was just 19, but it didn’t last. She shared that her first husband fell for someone else, which was tough for her. But she’s found happiness with her second husband, Michael Mayhew, since 2010.
They were engaged for a whopping 35 years before tying the knot! They live in Kent with their adorable cockapoo, Jack. But filming Vera meant she spent a lot of time away from home.
She’s been open about missing her family and wanting to enjoy life more. After 14 years of hard work, she realized she hadn’t had a summer with her husband in ages. That’s a long time!
Brenda’s also mentioned wanting to settle down near the coast, where she has a home in Ramsgate. Waking up to the sea sounds pretty dreamy, doesn’t it?
