A 'Common Understanding' for ESDGC is currently being developed by the Welsh Assembly Government's Advisory Panel for ESDGC. This will aid schools in developing a holistic and balanced approach to ESDGC. This Common Understanding will cover the breadth of ESDGC under 7 key themes.

The original document was derived from the results of a recent consultation on Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship and is intended to highlight actions that will drive the agenda forward over the 3 year period of 2006-2009.
